Dessye Dee's Story
Currently living in rural Western Montana (outside a town of 450 people), raising sheep and supervising a psychiatric outpatient clinic. Widowed for 1-1/2 years but had 23 good years of memories. My 19 y/o niece Lisa lives with me and helps with the farm. Come visit if you like the woods, kayaking, hunting (rifle or camera), spinning wool, or painting watercolors. Great escape for writers.

cared a lot about kids back then -my teachers and parents intervened. A little attitude correction and then I was making a turnaround....to graduate early. Shouldn't have been in such a hurry to grow up though.
...Did manage to complete several degrees and did my doctoral dissertation at the University of Washington, School of Nursing. Topic was adolescents coping with Type I diabetes: metacognition and symptom self-management, subjects carried small pocket computers (Psion PDAs) that recorded their glucometer-tested blood sugar, mood, choice-reaction time, and personal estimates of their blood sugar. An early study of "body listening". This is a prototype that applies to anyone coping with a chronic health condition, such as asthma, depression, schizophrenia, Lupus, or multiple sclerosis etc.
